Account book, 1796-1807.

A double-entry account book, 1796-1807, with most of the income from bonds, stocks, and rent. Expenditures more than kept pace with income and consisted largely of normal household stuff, except food. First account is of William Beekman's (1754-1808) with the estate of his uncle William's (1725-1795). Other accounts included are those of James Beekman, Jr., John, Gerard, Samuel, Jane, Catharine, Mary Bayard, and Cornelia. In each case the individual's share of the estate income is balanced against expenditures made on that person's account.
